At WAVE, laser hair reduction is performed using the Cutera XEO platform with two handpieces selected based on your skin type:
ProWave LX — broadband light optimized for lighter skin types (Fitzpatrick I-III) and finer hair
CoolGlide Nd:YAG 1064nm — preferred for darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV-VI), offering safe and effective treatment across a broader range of skin tones
Handpiece selection is based on your Fitzpatrick skin type, hair color, and hair coarseness — assessed at your consultation before any treatment begins.

What to Expect at WAVE
At WAVE, we treat small and medium areas including the face, underarms, and bikini area. We do not offer full leg, arm, or back treatments — keeping our focus on areas where we can deliver consistent, high-quality results as a solo practice.
Treatment protocol:
- Shave the treatment area the day before your appointment — do not wax or epilate
- Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks before and after treatment — active tan significantly increases risk of pigmentation changes
- Most patients require 6-10 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal reduction
- Annual touch-up treatments are recommended to maintain results
- During treatment, you will feel warmth and a mild stinging sensation — most patients tolerate this well
- Redness and mild swelling after treatment are normal and typically resolve within a few hours
After your treatment, the area may be red or swollen. However, this will go away within a day or so. Feel free to resume all normal activities following your laser hair removal treatment.
